A person has a condition known as trisomy. What does this mean? The person has three genes that were deleted from one chromosome and translocated to another chromosome. The person has a triplet copy of genes that broke off of one chromosome and reattached to another. The person is missing three chromosomes from his or her genome. The person’s cells have three chromosomes in a single set.
