Anyone that can help with algebra please help me!!

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

ask

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

d

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

18,6 is above the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can u help with one more?

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

yeah

OpenStudy (mathmale):

the purple area under the line represents the "solution set." What this means is that any combination of chips and salsa that appears as a point in the purple area is a "solution," whereas any above the line is not a solution. the first choice is 10 bags of chips and 2 jars of salsa. That translates into the point (10,2).. The horiz. axis represents the number of bags of chips (10) and the vertical axis the number of jars of salsa (y). Plot the point (10,2). Does this point lie above or below the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Below

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please think about what y ou learned from the previous problem, and apply it to solving this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

b

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

bdw i just got some kind of warning....who did that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont know. i gave you a medal and i fanned but thats it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got B. Its a solid line so it cant be C or D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you there @mathmale

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Yes, I am. I warned Witty about giving you direct answers with no involvement on your part. I also discussed with you the method for solving your first problem, and was hoping you'd use it. What are you working on now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got down to A and B and im trying to solve now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it A? When solving it turns out true.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Here's my suggestion: Pick any point from within the purple area. Points have the format (x,y). Now substitute the coordinates of that point into inequality A. Is the inequality now true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Which point are you going to test in the inequality A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4,6 so it would be: 3(-4) − 2(6) ≤ 7 Right?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Is -24 less than 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once simplified you get -12 - 12 = -24 which is less than 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is A

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Yes. Thank you for having the patience to work this thru!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your welcome. I think its better for me when someone walks through it anyway.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait. What?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mathmale):

What? Not sure what you're asking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look. i got it wrong.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please show me your results and explain why you believe they're wrong.
