Hello and welcome to OpenStudy! Do you have a guess of what the answer may be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um i think it might be -8.79 @linksonic1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not quite. See how the first number -3.62 is a negative number? That basically means that if we are adding a negative and a positive then we would be doing the opposite and would be subtracting. Try one more time but subtract.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3.45

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@linksonic1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your answer would actually be 2.55 Would you like me to explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i subtracted

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought you couldn't give out the answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's simple, really! The equation has a negative and a positive. You see the positive number? All you have to do is take that positive number and subtract it by your negative number- leaving you with 2.55 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry @linksonic1 i was giving the wrong answer i meant to put d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also..If you use a calculator to check, your answer still would be C. 2.55 haha
