I think its C.... i.e. All of the above....

The composition shows more context i.e. the visual element are more nicely arranged...[]Vaguely as I don't have Photography as a subject
The composition places attention on the foreground which is the exact reason why your pic is in portrait...
The composition minimizes the background, just try & tell the background from your photo [Not from your memory..:p]
