I have an idea... I think it would be nice if a person could remove replies/comments on only questions that they have asked.
WELL NO, wut if i did a mistake?
I'd love that
What do you mean @AlexandervonHumboldt2?
Well if this happen, then how would we catch users who spam etc?
there could be an undo button incase of the @AlexandervonHumboldt2
that^^^
well, the spam would be removed, and it wouldn't be as big of a problem. Also, in order to remove it, you could have options listed as to why it was removed and mods would get notified when it happened to a particular person for x amount of times. Does that make sense? I think that would be the only way it would work and be beneficial to OpenStudy as well as its users.
I mean we should just leave it how it is now, only mods can delete comments.
nothing good in this idea
Also it would get rid of people who are rude, because reporting them isn't really worth it if they're being rude even if it is in the Code of Conduct.
Because if you report someone for being rude it's just wasting the mods time when instead they could be taking care of those being inappropriate.
This is a terrible idea. Like the one I am about to suggest.
Well again, giving users power to delete their own comments is a bad idea and can cause users to delete evidence etc
but wut ifbad people will go and just delete everyones comments?
I was just about to say that @bunnielover948 it could save mods time because we could do it for them..but only on our posts.
If users want a comment deleted, just message a mod and he/she will decided if it should be deleted.
@BloomLocke367 I like your idea
not all mods accept messages from users they aren't friends with ._. I tried that last night because someone was posting spam on a post I had.
aw!! I'm sorry
But how will deleting a post help a mod?
Comment*
I'm not very good friends with mods. It'll help @jagr2713 because then the mods don't have to deal with deleting the comments themselves so then with all the extra time they can take care of important things
this will cause the folowing: spammer make a post. people go and tell him to close the spam and he deletes everyone comments :) afwul
But the only person that can delete the comment is the person who made the comment. So this is a bad idea because the person who is getting reported for spamming, can now delete it with no evidence @bunnielover948
Yeah, makes sense, but over time the idea could become something better. So don't dis it now
NO NO 1000000 NO's on this idea ;)
:P To all you dissing this idea, ok it may not be the best but y'all probably hurting @BloomLocke367 feelings. If people were dissing my idea, which has happened, I would not be happy.
We're not "dissing" your idea. We are giving our opinion on your idea to better you idea.
@bunnielover948 everyone is entitled to his or her opinions :D
^
Nah, Disagree ;)
But I'm not sure if you understand what I'm saying. Say @jagr2713 made a post @bunnielover948 spams it and prohibiting @jagr2713 from getting help only @jagr2713 would be able to delete the comments on HIS question.
\(\Huge\frak\color{red}{DISSARGEE}\)
Say, spammer makes a post. Jagr tells him to stop spaming and spammer removes his comments. Or new asker is posting a question in wrong section. jagr welcomes him (as a global intern) and asker removes his comment and jagr gets removed from GI work :(
We;; i understand @BloomLocke367 but users will abuse this power and start deleting random comments and when you do delete your comments, you lose the medals given on the question. But we have a report button for a reason :D
Nice that I'm the spammer
lol
lol
O_o
But why would they delete random comments if it isn't beneficial? o.O haha @bunnielover948 it was just a scenario
I though so, xD
It's ok I don't mind
Well its like why spam if its annoying and a waste of time @BloomLocke367
But that's why you have to fill out something to delete questions.. so mods can track who is deleting comments and whose comments they're deleting..
wut if no mods online?
There is never no mods online
i think
there are
But isnt it the same as asking a mod to delete your comment @BloomLocke367
He/she is still going to ask you why, and your still going to give a reason and he/she still will review it @BloomLocke367
most mods I know don't accept messages from people they aren't a fan of so I couldn't ask them to remove the comments ._.
Report it or ask another :D

@Jaynator495 can you please stop spamming this post
:P
@BloomLocke367 if you think this is a great idea, then please feel free to submit this suggestion and it will be looked at and decided on https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1gbJyuidaelKd6L9uwX68yWGdF5sSUKGGPSIW1EFH7To/viewform
I WIN LIFE
Btw, this feature was already a thing, it was removed.
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @AlexandervonHumboldt2 I WIN LIFE \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Yes, yes you do
oh. ._.
@AlexandervonHumboldt2 lets not spam and stay relevant :D
LOL
This is exactly why I suggested this idea ._.
Well you can always report the spammers :D and this will act as evidence to the mods :D
`\(\hspace{-500px}\Rule{10000px}{145px}{145px} I~win~Life\)` Alex got it :P
I saw it, too, Jay.. but spam ._.
