OpenStudy (gabby1214):

Why should it take significantly more energy to move a beam of alpha particles than a beam of beta minus (β– ) particles??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because the charge on an alpha particle is 2 times stronger then on a beta particle, however, it the alpha particle is 7,350 times more massive (so it takes more force to move it the same distance).
