Does anyone know the mood and tone for the story Tex by S. E. Hinton?? Trying to double check my daughters homework. She has depressed and sad.

the kids have a hard life. The dad left & they are little kids. They get involved in things they shouldn't, and just when they're doing fine, the dad comes back. There's a lot of anger and sadness in the book.

true that but also there is happiness the children may seem un happy but I believe that on the inside there feelings for there dad grew
