Which statement about samurai in Medieval Japan is NOT true? Samurai were expected to live by a code of honor known as the bushido, "the way of the warrior." For 300 years samurai ruled Japan by themselves without an emperor. Samurai were under the command of local aristocrats or warlords. As the central power of the emperor decreased, the power of feudal aristocrats and their samurai armies increased.
