Mean of a set of numbers means the average. So in order to find the average, we add all the numbers up and divide them by how many numbers there are.

So 9 + -6 + -8 + 11 + -4 + 10 = 12 So now how many numbers are there? There are 6 numbers. So now we do \[12\div6\] and that si how we get 2. :) Do you understand now, @Smol_Dutchess?
