OpenStudy (prettygirl_shynice):

1-a,b Al Qaeda want the restoration of the Islamic Caliphate that is said to have existed some several hundred years ago and the imposition of Islamic/Sharia law in this region. They also wanted the removal of western influence from the Islamic holy sites such as Mecca. So A is probably the closest answer, although B is viable as well as they claim to be using the Koran and other Islamic tracts. Whether this means they "hate" western liberal beliefs is debatable although they certainly didn't believe in following them.
