I'd strongly suggest you look up "extraneous solution" on the 'Net.  I have to do that myself, to refresh my memory.

By doing another search for "extraneous root," you may find other examples.  You could borrow the form of the example and substitute your own numbers, so that the function you propose has an extraneous solution is entirely yours.  You're welcome!   I do need to get off the 'Net now, unfortunately.
