How does the immune system work together with the circulatory system to function properly? A. The white blood cells of the immune system fight and destroy pathogens. B. The infection site receives oxygen-depleted blood from the circulatory system's arteries, so the immune system works harder. C. Pathogens released by immune cells cause increased blood flow to the infection site, which brings other pathogens to the area more quickly. D. Red blood cells move through the body (to parts where they are needed) in the blood vessels of the circulatory system to fight infecti
It says infection at the end, btw I think it's D, am I wrong?

hi
So-called red blood cells carry oxygen through the body. They don't fight infection. Why would the immune system work better if an infection site received oxygen-poor blood? Does that sound likely? Pathogens are bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms that cause disease. Do they sound like something that would be released by immune cells?
