http://media.apexlearning.com/Images/200708/27/2e4ebeb7-1685-420b-b9b1-0454d9747e32.gif i need help with 7 questions The points plotted below are on the graph of a polynomial. Which of the following x-values is the best approximation of a root of the polynomial? Check all that apply. A. x = 6 B. x = -1.1 C. x = 1 D. x = -1.7 E. x = 4.3 F. x = 2.4
the roots of the polynomial means what are the values of x when y = 0
where does the graph cross the x-axis?
is one of them 6 and -1.1?
hint check all that apply more than one place
yes
what about 2?
there is no 2 only 2.4
what about 1 ?
i would put 2,4 remember the polynomial is a continuous line cross it with the x-axis and read the points of intersection
should -1.7 be also one of them since the dot is in -1.1 ?
not to me -1.7 would be very close to -2 the line crosses just past -1 so the root is -1.1
4.3 would not be one of the roots because there nothing between there am i correct ?
so far my answers would be 6 , -1.1, and 2.4 correct
the roots are the x points where the graph touches the x-axis
yes
okay thank you for that question
i have a problem that i need help in
i have a problem that i need help in
if the others are similar you should be able to do them now that you know what to look for

A. x = -1.1 B. x = -2 C. x = 4.1 D. x = 2.4 E. x = 1.1 F. x = 0.8
