What is the factorization of the polynomial graphed below? Assume it has no constant factor. Write each factor as a polynomial in descending order.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

3 roots x= -1, +5, -8

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

hence factors are x+1, x-5 and x-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it gives me a box to write it not a multiple choice

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

wat descending order does it mean by?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does this one give me three aswell or only two because the x gives me 2 but idk about the y axis

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

u shud see x axis only...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay only x then

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

never see y axis for roots...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be x+1 and x+7?

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

nope...x-1 and x-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its minus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got my signs wrong

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

no roots are positive only

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

see d theory is if u have a factor...u have to equate it to zero...in order to get ur root

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

so if ur factor is x-7 then ur root is x=7

OpenStudy (witty_roger):

x= +7 (Positive root,, negative sign sign in factor) and vice versa

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay then now i get my signs
