OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Josh and his friends bought vanilla wafers for $4 per packet and chocolate wafers for $1 per packet at a carnival. They spent a total of $45 to buy a total of 27 packets of wafers of the two varieties. Part A: Write a system of equations that can be solved to find the number of packets of vanilla wafers and the number of packets of chocolate wafers that Josh and his friends bought at the carnival. Define the variables used in the equations. (5 points) Part B: How many packets of chocolate wafers and vanilla wafers did they buy? Explain how you got the answer and why you selected a particular method to get the answer. (5 points)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

hi whats is the answer for part A and B

OpenStudy (misty1212):

we need a couple of variables, one for vanilla and one for chocolate you pick

OpenStudy (jchick):

We've trying to find two numbers here: the number of chocolate wafers and the number of vanilla wafers. Would you like to choose two letters to represent those numbers?

OpenStudy (jchick):

Actually no wait well if one this is $4 and the other is $1, since we're talking about money, the total was $45. With this, you now have 4x + y = 45. Now for the second equation, it'll just be about the items, so x + y = 27.

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

thats for part B ?

OpenStudy (jchick):

Why are you looking at other posts of this question?

OpenStudy (jchick):

Just stay here and you will be able to get the answer.

OpenStudy (jchick):

I just followed you into another post.

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

LOL

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

OK

OpenStudy (jchick):

a = vanilla b = chocolate a + b = 27 packets 4a + 1b = $45

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

I WILL STAY HERE LOL

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

SO WHATS THE ANSWER FOR PART A AND B

OpenStudy (jchick):

You should be able to answer the rest from here. Now I basically gave you the answers to the question.

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

WOW U JUST GOT THAT FROM THE OTHER POST I JUST SAW IT LOL YOUR NO HELP

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (jchick):

No I didn't. I actually typed that myself.

OpenStudy (jchick):

But yes it was in the post you were looking at now what really upsets me is that you do not wait for someone to help you only go look for it else where. Why should I waste my time if you will not help me complete your work.

OpenStudy (jchick):

The numbers and format are the same but if you can't solve from there then you should be asking your teacher for a better explaination.

OpenStudy (jchick):

I myself have taught at FLVS for years.

OpenStudy (jchick):

I am not supposed to give direct answers.

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

OK THEN SO IF YOU REALLY KNOW THIS THEN WHATS THE ANSWER FOR PART A AND B

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

YOU DONT KNOW IT EITHER

OpenStudy (jchick):

SOLVE IT!

OpenStudy (jchick):

I CANNOT GIVE YOU DIRECT ANSWERS DO WHAT I HAVE SHOWN YOU.

OpenStudy (jchick):

I HAVE TO LEAVE NOW.

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

LOL THANK YOU BECAUSE YOUR NO HELP ANY WAYS BYE
