If your recording in real life, you can download YouTube Capture. If your recording your screen, Try Snagit or Fraps.

The most basic recording system does not particularly focus on gaming alone, so if you are only looking for game recording then this might not be the best option. ScreenCastOMatic is a good recording site that I have used for recording previously for beginners.

Every single one of you picked the most unreliable products on the market. I owned almost every single thing you guys mentioned and they all started screwing up within months after buying it. Plus not to mention my already owned Elgato could still record at 1080p and its old. I've had the same Elgato for nearly two and a half years now. It hasn't broke, it hasn't messed up a recording, never once has it failed to do its job. So buy a Elgato game capture. They are the most reliable and best game capture products on the market.
