Jack and Jill had 5 pails of water. Each trip up the hill, Jack and Jill obtained 2 more buckets of water. Which of the graphs below represents Jack and Jill's number of pails over time? graph of line going through 1, 7 and 2, 12 graph of line going through 1, 7 and 3, 11 graph of line going through 2, 6 and 4, 7 graph of line going through 0, 2 and 6, 3

hi

OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

Hello

OpenStudy (lolacole12):

Each trip up the hill, Jack and Jill obtained 2 more buckets of water. ^this means with 1 trip, the buckets increase by 2... ie the slope of the line must be 2. It also must have a y-intercept of 5 since "Jack and Jill had 5 pails of water."

OpenStudy (lolacole12):

it has a y-int of 5 and slope of 2

OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

so solve for y=2x+5, correct?

OpenStudy (lolacole12):

yes

OpenStudy (cmtboy2):

did you get it all don

OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

No

OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

I cant seem to remember how to solve that equation

OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

@lolacole12

OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

Got it :) It was all in my notes
