Remember a linear equation setup is y=mx+b
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
yes
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
ok
OpenStudy (boldjon):
could it be b
OpenStudy (boldjon):
b

wait a sec i am still trying to figure this out :)
OpenStudy (boldjon):
lol take ur time gurl
OpenStudy (foxythepirate0984):
while that maybe bold can help me with more questions
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay... Remember you need to set up your equation in the format y=mx+b, and do that by making it an equation. Once there, parallel lines have the exact same slope.
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
2x+5y=10
=> 5y = -2x+10
=> y = (-2/5)x+2
Slope of this line is -2/5;
Line parallel to the above line will have the same slope.
y = (-2/5)x+c
=> (-1) = (-2/5)(-2) + c
=> -1 = 4/5 + c
=> c = -1-4/5 = -9/5;
Answer: Required equation in slope form is y = (-2/5)x = 9/5;
In standard form: 2x+5y = 9;3x-x+2=4 so what do you think the answer is after this, I did my work on comput. so copy and paste from my power point :) it is faster than typing everything again :)

lol the answer is D cuz the y intercept is the last number and the x intercept is the number after the equal sign
OpenStudy (foxythepirate0984):
thank
OpenStudy (boldjon):
Anytime ^_^
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
o find the slope of an equation - we need to convert the equation in the slope-intercept form
y = m*x + c and compare values of `m` and `c`
so that we can get the value of slope and the `y` intercept
`m` is the slope of equation and `c` is the y-intercept
So converting the given equation in the slope-intercept form we get y = 0*x + -1
On comparing we get values of `m` = 0 and `c` = -1
That means the line has a slope 0 and the y-intercept is -1
Slope 0 means line is parallel to x-axis
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
so yes d

can you 2olve thii2?
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
ok let me see
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay, take 14x + 6y = 3 For a parallel slope.
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
1. slope of this line is 4 and the slope of the perp line is alway the inverse negative -1/4 option c
2. 5x 2y = 11
2y = -5x + 11
y = -5/2 + 11/2
slope is -5/2 option B
3. put in the values for x and y and see if they equal 11
1,2 3(1) + 7(2) = 17 nope
0,4 3(0) + 7(4) = 28 nope
6,1 3(6) + 7(1) = 25 nope
0,4 3(0) + 7(4) = 28 nope
OpenStudy (foxythepirate0984):
2o iit2 b?

OHHHHHHthe answer is D cuz X is 6 an Y is -1
if u plug them in for x and y you'll get 11
OpenStudy (foxythepirate0984):
oh ok
OpenStudy (smartyprincess):
yes
OpenStudy (foxythepirate0984):
ii got a C c:
