I need to re-write x^2=10x+y^2-4y+20=0 in the standard form for the equation of a circle. Would someone please guide me through the necesssary "completing the square?"

For starters, if you're trying to complete the square you would not to isolate and solve for y.

Can you show me how to start this from the very beginning ?

Is that the exact question given? Why would they ask you to complete the square and make it into the equation of a circle..... seems kind of to me

the real question is Given the general form of the equation of a circle x2 + 10x + y2 – 4y + 20 = 0 a. Find the corresponding standard form b. Identify the center and radius of the circle c. Find the x- and y-intercepts d. Graph the circle
