What happens to a glass of water as the average molecular kinetic energy of the water molecules increases? The water becomes more acidic. The water becomes warmer. The water becomes cooler. The water turns to ice.

Alright so imagine you've got yourself a nice cool glass of water. Then, you place the water down to do something really quickly. You come back and what happens to the water? It's no longer cool, is it?

OpenStudy (lfreeman1285):

The "average kinetic energy" is just a fancy way of saying temperature. Therefore, as the temperature of the water increases, it gets warmer.
