Lets have fun people, don't google these question. so 1. How can you add eight 8's to get the number 1,000? (only use addition)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all of you have 5 mins ask each other

OpenStudy (willie579):

Idk...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one of them has to be 888 otherwise it would be too large of a difference to actually make it to 1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which leaves 5 eights left and only doing single eights wont make it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that has to be an 88 as well (i hope were allowed to use a calculator otherwise im cheating :D)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes u are

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 3 eights left, and no other possibility but for them to be single eights. so the answer is 888 + 88 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well done !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am gonna post another question in new thread.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im glad logic worked there, if i had to actually use my math skills i mightve taken just a little longer lol
