How do you guys memorize formulas?
Sometimes there are clever little acronyms for these popular math tricks. Sometimes I come up with my own. What formulas are you trying to remember? :O)
for me it's just practicing the same problem over n over n over again (relating the formula) It does help to know what you are trying to memorize :)
Things like sequence formulas (arithmetic and geometric recursive and iteraive), Area and perimeter of different shapes and just things to refer to.
I memorize formulas when I do my homework. Before I write the problem, I write the formula I will use to solve it for every problem in the homework set. Usually by the end of my assignment I have them memorized, but I brush up before a test.
Just practice more relating to the formula you want to memorize :)
As @Alphabet_Sam said. :) also if you really want to go over board try making flashcards :P Formula on the back name of formula on the front practing is better though
Mnemonic devices. Putting them into little songs.
Awesome! Seems like good ideas, Ill definitely try it. Thanks everyone!
As often as you're able, try to get a grasp of the intuition behind the formula. For example, I ALWAYS forget the geometric and arithmetic formulas for sequences. But I know that for arithmetic, I have to add something each time. a2 = a1+d a3 = a1+2d ... and you can come up with the formula on the fly, no memorization needed. an=a1+(n-1)d just an idea :))
