OpenStudy (natasha18):

(purple smooth = 75, white smooth = 28, purple wrinkled = 24, white wrinkled = 8) (these are kernels of corn on a cob) Account for the difference between the expected and experimental value. Can someone please help me understand this?! I have no idea how to figure it out.

Hi Natasha, We can just implement the Chi square test formula and calculate it wait a minute ill do it for u!! :)

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

The Calculated Chi square value is 0.5842 at 3 degrees of freedom The Tabulated Chi square value is 7.82 at 0.05 probability. The calculated Chi square value is lesser than the tabulated chi square value at 0.05p fpr 3 degrees of freedom. Therefore the NULL hypothesis is accepted and the difference is not significant.

OpenStudy (hectoroftroy):

Deepika - that is how you or I or any real scientist would go about the problem. Except this is school work and they want the asker to do a dihybrid cross.
