i know that for a cobalt-60 source there is two photon emissions of 1.17 MeV and 1.33 MeV, but is there actually a way to calculate these energies??? and if so how???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea so where does the 1.17 and 1.33 come from i mean like is there a way to actually calculate it ?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

Both energies can be measured. When I was at university I worked out a laboratory exercise, on such phenomenon

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

such gamma emissions come from the nuclear dropout

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so are there equations to solving the gamma emission from the nuclear dropout?
