What is the value of |−32|? Fan and medal!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Absolute value bars (those flat parentheses around the number) mean that you disregard the sign in front of the number and just treat it as a distance from 0. Remember that distances can't be negative, so absolute value bars will always make negative numbers become positive.

OpenStudy (tal_tal):

Oh okay so it would be +32

OpenStudy (tal_tal):

Or just 32?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well +32 is the same as 32. If a number has no sign in front of it, it is positive.
