RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

okay so, I keep getting a moderator notification saying that I need to explain my answers...but I understood the first time and started explaining my stuff...but i keep getting the notification.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Probable Reasons: 1.Lag 2.The moderator unknowingly issued it more than once P.S. Look at the bright side-Now you know this rule thoroughly ;)

Directrix (directrix):

@RhondaSommer Are the notifications coming from a single, named Mod or from an unnamed Mod (Mod Squad)?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

unamed mod

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

first time was about 4 hours ago second time was about 1 hour ago when another (different) mod saw you attempting to still give answers. a direct answer can be defined as any answer in which does not invoke participation of the asker to get to the answer, or a reply from which the asker can pluck out the answer without having to understand anything. our goal here is to get people to learn and understand. if the comments you give on people's questions do not encourage them to fully understand How to do their problem, then that violates our goal

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

if the said asker gives you a question that does not invoke explanation, how are you supposed to do so?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

and usually, i give the best explanation i can give. :|

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

http://prntscr.com/39dkse

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

but that does not invoke explanation. even if i help with explanation. I might tell them the answer and ask if they need help understanding. but, if the person does not want or willing to accept help, how i am i supposed to give it?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

"Never give up on making someone learn on Openstudy." ~ @AravindG you can always try to give them just the explanation and try to nudge them towards the right answer :) if the asker is not willing to learn, don't cave in. if they really want to get to the answer - they should have to listen to your explaination and actually think a bit :)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

sorry...Im not great with words i guess...ill do my best

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

thank you :)

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

thanks for understanding :)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

>.< i try :P
