Can someone check if my answer is right
Which table shows the probability distribution for spinning the spinner one time?
I believe the answer would be 1/8=
I see a little leak in instruction as it is not very clear what number(s) do you desire to spin, and what are X and Y exactly? (Maybe other ppl can understand them; I do not)
I mean X and P..
I know P is probability of X, but what is X?
1 what is the chance of getting which number in just one spin
I agree with Solomon that your objective is not clear. Where are the probability tables in question? You want to find the probability of ... what? Probability of getting what?
For example what is the chance of getting a 2 or 3
What is a chance of getting 1, 2, 3, or any X? So X is some number on the spinner?
You'll need to pick one numeral. Then we can look at the spinner and determine the probability of obtaining that particular numeral.
Solomon: Yes.
X represents the number
P the chance of getting the number
yes your answer is right
I didn't understand what the question was; but, yes I see now... you are correct!
Kevin: Which number? You want to find P( which number? ). Choose one for an example.
2
Look at the given illustration. How many times does the numeral 2 show up, out of how many (total)?
2/8 which is equal to .25
I know that but my problem is that A is the same a C. C is just rounded
Excellent. There are 8 possibilities, of which 2 are the numeral 2. Right you are.
Then please restate the problem. What exactly are you trying to calculate?
I'd much prefer to calculate the answer and then compare it to the four given choices.
I understand the question and know my answer. I just want to know if I'm choosing the right one
yes, you are...
Ok, thank you I wish I could medal both of you.
We have already established that the P of obtaining a '2' is 0.25. I can't work up much enthusiasm for telling anyone he's "right" or "wrong." I much prefer to find the actual answers the long way and then comparing them to the given answer choices.
Thanks for the thought, anyway.
thanks for your contributions, Solomon.
