OpenStudy (diana.xl):

A coin is tossed 20 times. The outcomes H (for heads) and T (for tails) are recorded: H T H T T T T H H T T H H T T T H H H T What is the experimental probability of getting heads (H)? 0.45 0.5 0.65 0.8

OpenStudy (aravindg):

You know the basic definition of probability?

OpenStudy (diana.xl):

is my answer 0.45?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (diana.xl):

9/20 = 0.45

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Sorry @ayeshaafzal221 I do not agree to that. The question specifically asks for experimental probability, a term which is quite different from theoretical probability. @Diana_xL Your answer 0.45 is right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

srry @Diana.xL and thnx @AravindG i was thinking theoretically i guess

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Theoretical probability is what we expect to happen, whereas experimental probability is what actually happens when we try it out. I hope you realize the difference.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i didnt know @AravindG thnx

OpenStudy (aravindg):

yw :)
