Today is Christmas Eve, remember Christmas is not about the presents you get. The real reason is that we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! So even if you don't get the present you want be thankful you even got a present, if there was no Christmas and no Birth of Jesus you would have never got anything in the first place. If Jesus was not born there would be no Christmas, nor Easter. There would be most likely no New Testament in the Bible. So tonight or tomorrow as we get our presents be thankful that: Jesus was born.

I'm no religious person :P

But I can say this: Jesus is seen as a gift to humankind. That's why some cultures that do believe this practice and follow the example by giving gifts to others.

By the way I found it interesting that the Christmas holidays have the most music out of every other holiday out there. That's because what the Bible said was to "rejoice" and the key to becoming calm in times of anxiety is music. It lifts up your spirit emotionally. :)
