RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

Okay so, when a baby is born and the mother has been taking drugs (ex, cocaine), where would you find the drugs? I think is embryo....but I cant quite remember...

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

@Nnesha

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

@uri

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

help please... :(

OpenStudy (somy):

What does embryo have to do with already born baby?

OpenStudy (somy):

and the only way to check for presence of drugs in body is blood whether it's babies or mother's

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

not already born but like, just after the baby is born, dont the doctors test the embryo and stuff?

OpenStudy (somy):

alright it looks like you are mixing up something define embryo to me

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

uuuummm i just know that they found drugs in the embyo when i was born and i was a cocaine baby. i thought that they had to test the embryo to do that?

OpenStudy (somy):

alright dear, embryo is an 'unborn baby that is still undergoing developmental stages'

OpenStudy (somy):

in mother's womb that is

OpenStudy (somy):

it depends you know, like when did your mother take drugs (which month of her pregnancy) and what drug did she take

OpenStudy (somy):

depending of that you can tell if the baby is more prone to get affected by it or less prone im not sure how much you wish to know but to make it easy, you were probably tested as you were born if they tested while you were in your mother's womb then they probably testes amniotic fluid for presence of the drug

OpenStudy (somy):

amniotic fluid is basically a liquid substance that surrounds the embryo in the womb, it has embryo's waste products and all like urine or these chemicals and so on

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

thank you :)

OpenStudy (somy):

no problem dear) i hope you are well:)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

i am actually, the only defect that i have is blindness in one eye. I feel like i got it easy :)

OpenStudy (somy):

i hope its not hard on you? i mean psychologically

OpenStudy (somy):

take care of yourself)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

i will thanks :)

OpenStudy (somy):

np)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I also am blind in one eye. I was born that way. We are very lucky people
