@mehek14 In DNA replication, the leading strand _____________________. uses fragments connected by ligase to form a new strand of DNA because the DNA clamp cannot hold the DNA polymerase in place is replicated in a discontinuous fashion because DNA polymerase produces strands in a 3’ to 5’ direction does not require any DNA polymerase enzymes to form a new strand of DNA is formed in a continuous sequence because DNA polymerase produces strands in a 5’ to 3’ direction
your thoughts?
I'm thinking it's replicated in a discontinuous fashion but I'm not really sure
I would say the opposite because it says here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA_polymerase `When creating DNA, DNA polymerase can add free nucleotides only to the 3' end of the newly forming strand. This results in elongation of the newly forming strand in a 5'-3' direction.`
Thanks!
