Chatper Three: The Insult

"Mr. Blansfield, I'd like you to meet David. He's the new student and is taking this class."

"Hi David nice to meet you. I don't know how many seats are left because this room is packed but you're more than welcome to stand if you'd like," Mr. Blansfield says to David.

"Thank you Mr. Blansfield, but I think I'll stand. I understand I'm a little late coming into this year so I don't know if there is anything to catch up on. Do you want me to make up the work that I missed from before I was enrolled?" David is like the honors student into kissing up to teachers. I wonder if he would fit into my friend group.

"Please call me Blans and you have a little bit to do but not much. I'm sure Savvy can help you out with that." Finally I walk away to go talk to Kahleb and Nolan. Best buds of the Broadcasting Class!

"How's it going?"

"Pretty good," Kahleb looks at me momentarily from his new binge-watching list of anime. "Attack on Titan today? Or Full Metal Alchemist? I was thinking more Black Butler myself but..."

"Black Butler sounds fine," I reply. That's what we do. Most of the time anyway. We get a week to finish something that only takes about two days in this class so the rest of the time we watch anime that we all like. It's called 'The Binge-Watching List' because we binge watch until class is over.

"I kinda wanted to watch Attack On Titian today," Nolan says as he walks in the classroom. Nolan never used to enjoy anime but after two years, we wore him down. "Or we could look through ifunny and laugh at the pictures..." Just as he says this Dee walks over.

"I'm game for anything," Dee says

"Fabulous. Not only does he question my ability to dream, he has to get involved with the rest of my life too," I say with a sarcastic grin towards him. "But you're pretty. So I guess I'll let you," I say with a wink. Kahleb looks skeptically at me, throws his head back and laughs.

"I'm guessing you didn't tell him?" Kahleb asks.

"Nope," I reply. I'm grinning from ear to ear and almost-almost laugh.

"Tell me what?" Dee asks the both of us, his expression turning from "I'm bad-retriceduh!" to "What the hell is going on?"

"Can I tell him?" Kahleb asks.

"Sure, why not?" Kahleb looks at Dee and Nolan can't stop laughing because he knows what's coming.

"Dude. Savvy is transgender."

"You're kidding right? You have way to many woman-ly qualities in you." He struggles to find the right words. I stare at him for a while till it registers that he isn't kidding. I rush out of the classroom sit down and cry in the hallway. I hear the door open again and Kahleb walks out.

"Nightmares and a douche don't make a great combo I take it?"

"Yeah, no." I say and sniffle. There's got to be snot everywhere but its Kahleb, so I don't care. He's like a brother anyway and he knows the real reason that I'm transgender. He knows that the only reason I'm transgender is because of what happened with my parents. Ever since that day, I have done everything I could to make me someone else. Something else. I didn't want to be the same person that my parents saw. I wanted to be as far as I possibly could be to that eight year old little girl who watched her parents get shot to death. Afterwards, I barely spoke at all. I felt like I had no reason to.I closed everyone out of my life but Kahleb wouldn't give up. Everyday, he sat beside me and gradually I started enjoying it. Then spoke and started to actually be involved. Kahleb understand that I have a need to be different. Being a girl happened to be one of the things that I wanted to change. He respected it.

"I'm here for you. Okay?"

"Yeah. I know," 'you always are' I almost said out-loud...almost. "I don't know why that hit so hard. First he's asking me what my favorite dream is, then he tells me that I don't actually know what sexuality I am. Plus, his eyes have the same exact color of the person who killed my parents."

"Oh, well that's awkward," Kahleb says to me.

"Even besides all that, we have every class together and he wont stop asking me questions. I'm getting annoyed and beyond frustrated."

"That's just plain weird and seems wrong to me..."
