To maintain a healthy diet, no more than 30% of calories consumed each day should come from fat. A normal, healthy teenage girl needs about 2,000 calories each day. How many calories should come from sources other than fat in a teenage girl's diet each day?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Total x percent = then take this and subtract it from the total. Example: 3000 x .30 = 900 - 3000 =2100

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

25 to 35 percent of daily calories would equal approximately 55 to 75 grams of fat per day... so just multiply the higher end by 9 (there is 9 calories per gram and it easier to go by the highest number.) and you get 675. subtract that from 2000 and you're set

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

so... doing all the calculations...about 1325 calories to -1505
