The United States has a lot of its own oil. If we sunk oil wells and used the oil that is in the United States, we would not have to be dependent on expensive foreign oil. But, if we did that, it would seriously hurt our environment. Give your opinions as to why we should or should not put in our own oil wells.

We should drill for our own oil here in the USA and just off-shore. It have as big of an environmental mess as people think it would. The oil companies want to recover all of the oil that they can so that they can turn an even better profit. If they spill they lose money.  Also it would make gasoline not so expensive.
