A poem that I wrote:

A Soldier

Sometimes I sit and wonder,
where would we be
But then I remember we wouldn't be free

Unselfish acts when we were attacked,
You stood tall when we felt so small.
leaving friends and loved ones behind,
To go fight on the front line.

Walking with courage
Walking with pride
and leaving no man behind.

The sacrifices you make
touch me to the bone,
and every night i pray you get to come home.

I like it, but you should pay more attention to the number of syllables in each line, and the number of lines in each stanza. Your poem kind of "zigzags".

Yeah I agree with @Susanna but I also recommending having a common idea placed in each stanza and that the first and last stanzas stay similar.
