Someone help please! WILL FAN AND MEDAL Find the value of this fraction computation: 6(1/2+2/3+3/4) :/ please help with distribution and without, I have a little bit of these questions and need some help

OpenStudy (marihelenh):

To solve the fractions, you first need to find a common denominator. What do 2, 3, and 4 all go into?

OpenStudy (cav7):

24?

OpenStudy (marihelenh):

They do, but they can also go into 12, which will make the math simpler.

OpenStudy (marihelenh):

So for 1/2, to get the bottom to equal 12, you have to multiply it by 6. Whatever you do to the bottom you have to do to the top, so multiply the numerator and denominator by 6. For 2/3, you need to multiply the top and bottom by 4 so the denominator equals 12. For 3/4, multiply both by 3, so again the denominator is equal to 12.
