I need help! Answer and Explanations PLEASE! Find the common denominator, then order with <, >, or = 11/12 ; 8/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You say "Find the common denominator" Do you mean A common denominator or THE LOWEST common denominator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lowest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well then just increase the multiples of 12 and for each one see if 9 also goes into it. Once you have found the first number that fits both, tell me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0-0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats confusing brb let me find a calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's pretty easy. 12*1=12. Does 9 fit into 12 evenly? No. Then do 12*2, and so on until you find the lowest number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12 x 2 and 6 x 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where did the 6 come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 x 4 is 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dang it nvm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got confused cas i've been doing math with a bunch of 4's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what i'm doing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12*2=24. Does 9 go evenly into 24?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then 12*3=36. Does 9 go evenly into 36?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 x 9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i;m going to find a different math problem to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

? well ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk what i'm doing with the 36, it'll be easier to find a math problem I can either use a calculator to get the answer, or one thats faster to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the site i'm getting the math practice on sometimes says the right answer is wrong with ppl's answers or calculator, and i'm not in the mood to do this and have that happen
