OpenStudy (mkapad01):

The length L of a rectangle is decreasing at the rate of 2cm/sec while the width w is increasing at the ate of 2 cm/sec. When L= 12cm and w=5cm, find the rates of change of the area.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

what have you done so far? Why not draw a rectangle and label the length and width L and w respectively? this is a static illustration: nothing moves, nothing changes. How do you introduce rates of change when you bein with A = wL?

OpenStudy (mkapad01):

oh maybe find the derivative in respect to time

OpenStudy (mkapad01):

@mathmale is that correct
