OpenStudy (majesticgalaxy):

Please help me out with this question ASAP. Thanks :) Cross a YyLl (heterozygous parent with dominant traits) with yyll (homozygous parent with recessive traits). Look at the number of phenotypes of the F1 generation. YyLl x yyll (Parents), crossed will give you these offspring: YyLl: 400 Yyll: 100 yyLl: 100 yyll: 400 (1 point) Score 1. Which offspring are the recombinant offspring in this cross? Answer:

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

Well, What do you think?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

producing recombinant gametes is an event with a lower probability than producing non-recombinant (i.e. parental) gametes, so recombinant offspring will have much lower frequency than non-recombinant offspring.

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

The offsrings other than the parental types are the recombinant ones. The parental types are always more in number than the recombinants . So go with the offsprings that give 100 individuals.
