Given that y=1/x^2,find dy/dx when x=2,hence,estimate the value of a)1/1.98^2 Just to double check my answer @ganeshie8 @hartnn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there any other method to check whether my answer is correct for this question ?

hartnn (hartnn):

calculator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a calculator wouldn't be correct in the sense that they expect us to calculate the estimate instead of the actual value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so show your attempt, and simply ask us if it's correct. :)

hartnn (hartnn):

as if, the calculator will say that the answer is 0.255076... and we get dy = +0.05 so y= 0.255 and hence we can be quite sure our estimate is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so,i just need to press this value\[\frac{ 1 }{ 1.98^2 }\] into the calculator ?

hartnn (hartnn):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you @hartnn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks @Beauregard
