I think we have to use 1 to find sum. and then use 1/2 to find difference.

For sum, divide 1 into 30 box, pick 13 for 13/30
use multiplication to turn 2/15 to 4/30
then pick 4 more.
By that way, you can show students how to calculate 2/15 +13/30
