Find the equations of the lines through the points (3,2) which makes acute angle of 45 degree with the line x-2y = 3 .

@Abhisar

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

Are you familiar with vectors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plz solve it using Co-ordinate geometry

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

I will not solve it for you, and yes, we will use coordinate geometry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok....Just plz help me.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

You might want to start by drawing a fairly accurate diagram. This may not solve the problem for you, but would at least give you a way to estimate the slope and y intercept of the line(s) in question.

OpenStudy (boldjon):

Use the formula: tan(angle) = (m1-m2)/(1+m1m2)

OpenStudy (boldjon):

plug in for m and u got your answer

OpenStudy (owlcoffee):

@boldjon gave you a good method to find the slope of the line you are looking for.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (boldjon):

so? have u found it

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Found what? To answer the original question, we'll need to find another point, besides (3,2), through which the unknown line passes. I'm still struggling with a drawing that would show one unknown line that makes an angle of 45 dedgrees with the line x-2y=3.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Now, that's good! thank you.
