I want to check my answer. Write the equation of the line in point intercept form. Points: (4,-2) & (0,9) Slope: -11/4 y-9=-11/4(x-0) Point slope form Answer: y= -11/4x + 36/4

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

@jagr2713 Is this correct?

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

:(

OpenStudy (baru):

it is correct... but you can leave 9 as 9, there was no need to write it as 36/4

OpenStudy (baru):

a sure-fire way to check if the equation is correct is to simply substitute each point in the equation and see if you get LHS=RHS

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

How do I write it? @baru

OpenStudy (baru):

\[y=-\frac{11}{4}x+9\]

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

Why would I do that? 9 is y

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

.-.

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

@baru

OpenStudy (baru):

i'm sorry, what do you mean by 9 is y \[\frac{36}{4}=9\]

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

Oh :D

OpenStudy (gokuporter):

Thanks :)

OpenStudy (baru):

sure :)
