OpenStudy (onew12):

Which of the following substance is not an acid? Substance A is tested and found to have a pH of 3. Substance B, a common food, tastes sour. Substance C causes metals to corrode. Substance D feels slippery in solution.

OpenStudy (photon336):

@onew12 well, FYI an acid has a ph<6 so a substance with a pH of 3 is definitely an acid. of course they do cause metals to corrode too. But they do not feel slippery in solution that's actually a property of some weak bases.
