wel in order to solve you need to find the Average Rate of change.

New Number - Old Number ÷ Amount of time (3 hours in this case)

it equals 33.333333 right? which is about 33

now multiply that by 17 which is the hours. And add on the original number, 1000. That is you answer. What did you get?
