O is the centre of a circle of radius 5 cm. P is any point in the circle such that OP = 3 cm. A is the point travelling along the circumference, x is the distance from A to P.WHat is the least value and greatest value of x in cm?What is the position of points O,P and A at these values?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow this is new to me

OpenStudy (boldjon):

As point a is on the circle therefore OA =radius of circle

OpenStudy (boldjon):

radius of circle = 5 cm let points P O & A lie on straight line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@boldjon i don't know how to imagine it..the answer in the book is least = 2 cm an greatest = 8 cm and there is no reference to position of those points mentioned in the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i think i understand now
