Can someone explain to me how to calculate with E, and what it is? (picture below)

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

I clicked on See the Solution hoping that they'd say something about the process, but there's nothing :/

OpenStudy (retireed):

E is scientific notation. What type of calculator do you have?

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

Yes E is basically "10^"

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

2.0 E 30 kg = 2.0 * 10^30 kg

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Ohh ok. And I have a Casio fx-300ES plus

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Oh I see an option for scientific notation. I didn't know that's what it meant lol, thanks @retirEEd and @nuttyliaczar

OpenStudy (retireed):

Sorry I'm not familiar with the Casio. I did it a a TI-84 and must have mis-entered, so I did it in excel and verified the answer. My mistake was really bonehead, maybe I should go back to bed.

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Lol its alright!
