PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ENGLISH QUESTIONS!? @Awolflover1
A?
You're correct
Its not A btw
it's surely not rhyming, or a rhythm, and definitely not a hyperbole....
What are some examples of hyperbole? Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. Some common examples: •I am so hungry I could eat a horse. •I had a ton of chores to do. Examples from literature: From Flannery O'Connor's Parker's Back: "And the skin on her face was thin and drawn tight like the skin on an onion and her eyes were gray and sharp like the points of two ice picks."
rhythm. [ˈriT͟Həm] NOUN 1.a strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound: "Ruth listened to the rhythm of his breathing" synonyms: pattern · flow · tempo
rhyme. [rīm] NOUN 1.correspondence of sound between words or the endings of words, especially when these are used at the ends of lines of poetry. VERB 1.(of a word, syllable, or line) have or end with a sound that corresponds to another: "balloon rhymes with moon" · [more]
met·a·phor. [ˈmedəˌfôr, ˈmedəˌfər] NOUN 1.a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable: "“I had fallen through a trapdoor of depression,” said Mark, who was fond of theatrical metaphors" · [more] synonyms: figure of speech · image · trope · analogy · comparison · [more] •a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else, especially something abstract: "the amounts of money being lost by the company were enough to make it a metaphor for an industry that was teetering"
hmm... ive never seen hyperbole used in that way before. My mistake
@Ms-Brains does this help?
Wait a minute? Okay, so A is not correct? Does that mean its C?
I think its B. Hyperbole (maybe give me a second.)
yes B.
Awesome. Can you help me with some more?
A
correct
B
Correct.
C
@Atsie Check me please.
or it could be A
I believe you're right, its A.
In poetry, enjambment or enjambement Rodney widbmɑ̃) is incomplete syntax at the end of a line; the meaning runs over from one poetic line to the next, without terminal punctuation. Lines without enjambment are end-stopped.
I was looking @ the wrong question, hang on a sec
(check them all :D)
C
Correct
Its A for the second one for sure. The first one is a bit tricky. But if you think about it, what are metaphors really used for? They (especially in a poem) are meant to describe something else and give leave for making examples about something. Its the only definition that fits. Its A. And the very third one, yes enjambment is correct :)
Yep, definitely some.
Thank you all the help. I have 5 more questions that need checking!
