Physics 18 Online
OpenStudy (askme12345):

m/c q?

imqwerty (imqwerty):

okay so here we are hitting the ball at a certain angle \(above\) the horizontal can you tell which forces will be acting on the ball? :)

imqwerty (imqwerty):

yes gravitational force and also the force which is applied on the ball when we hit it

imqwerty (imqwerty):

gravitational force will always acts downwards and we hit the ball at a certain angle \(above\) the horizontal well it says to find the free body diagram of ball just after it leaves the bat so when it leaves the bat the contact between the ball and bat gets over and thus there will be no normal force which you are considering in option c

imqwerty (imqwerty):

yeah its a

imqwerty (imqwerty):

did you consider friction? :)

OpenStudy (askme12345):

knew i was missing something!b?

imqwerty (imqwerty):

yes you gotta take friction too

imqwerty (imqwerty):

yes it will be b :) \(d\) doesn't show the normal force so its wrong and \(a\) doesn't show the forward force which acts to make the player slide rightwards so \(a\) is also wrong
