Help! I got 21.42 but thats not an option! Best answer rewarded

OpenStudy (jravenv):

OpenStudy (b87lar):

just adding the straight segments of the outline: 12+3+12 gives you 27 already. You still have to add the half circle to it. Do you know how to calculate that?

OpenStudy (swaugh):

i got 30 w/o the half circle

OpenStudy (yese30):

that figure though o-O

OpenStudy (jravenv):

I just forgot to add the 3 and other 12. the circumference of the semicircle is 9.42

OpenStudy (jravenv):

So if the perimeter without the semicircle is 27 adding 9.42 would make it 36.42

OpenStudy (jravenv):

Correct?

OpenStudy (b87lar):

9.42 is the full circle so you should remember to add only half of that. and that would make it close to (a) I believe. does it make sense?

OpenStudy (jravenv):

It is? Oh yeah! For semicircle you have to do 2 pi r divided by 2! Silly mistake lol

OpenStudy (jravenv):

31.71 would be the answer then. Yes?

OpenStudy (b87lar):

correct!

OpenStudy (jravenv):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (b87lar):

no prob!
